Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Ashover, Derbyshire and lived at Matlock Green, Derbyshire. Son of Joseph and Amy Bower, of Whitbank, Alton, Tupton, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Matlock. He was killed in action, 13th October 1916, age 19, whilst serving in the line near Montauban, France., during the Battle of the Somme.
