British War and Victory MedalBorn at Abernant, Carmarthenshire. Husband of Elizabeth Bowen, of 13, Coychurch Road, Bridgend, Glamorgan. He was a tailor’s traveller prior to enlisting 3rd June 1916 at Swansea.  He went to  France 18th October 1917 and was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 1st April 1918. He was killed in action, 19th September 1918, in the attack on the Quadrilateral near Holnon, France.
