Born at Wellington, Shropshire and lived at Bolsover, Derbyshire. Son of John Boughey, of 110, Selwyn Street, Hillstown, Bolsover.  He enlisted at Manfield, Nottinghamshire. and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 21, near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
