Born and lived at Glossop, Derbyshire. Son of Joseph and Margaret Bottoms, of Glossop, Derbyshire. He was a dyer and bleaching hand prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 14th July 1915 and died of wounds 30th October 1915, aged 22.
