Private Frank Bottomley

Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Frank and Elizabeth Anne Bottomley, of 51 Colne Road, Glusburn, Keighley, Yorkshire. He was a worsted weaver prior to enlisting 12th December 1915 at Crosshills, Yorkshire. He went to France 26th March 1917 and was wounded by a gas shell 12, March 1918. He was admitted to No. 1 Canadian General Hospital, Etaples, France, 26th March 1918. He was posted to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 28th July 1918 and later posted to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 17th September 1918, in the attack on the Quadrilateral, near Holnon, France.
