Private Albert Victor Borrington

Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Derby and lived at Spondon, Derbyshire. Son of John J Borrington, of 48 Nottingham Road, Spondon. He was a cook prior to enlisting 8th December 1915 at Derby. He went to France 26th February 1917 and suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder 7th May 1917. He was treated at 12 General Hospital Rouen, France and rejoined his battalion 18rth August 1917. He was accidentally killed, 5th December 1917, in a dugout at Ribecourt when a kettle filled from a petrol tin supposed to contain water. but in reality but in reality, contained paraffin was placed in a lighted primer stove and caught fire.
