Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Presbury, Cheshire and lived at Kettleshulme, Cheshire. Son of William and Mary Hannah Boothby, of Lane Head, Kettleshulme. He was a labourer prior to enlisting 30th May 1913 at Kettleshulme. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was killed in action 1st July 1917, age 21, in the attack to the west of Lens, France.
