Private Walter Montgomery Booth

Battalion: 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of James and Elizabeth Booth, of 28 Lambert Street, Basford, Nottingham. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 26th February 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
