Born at Nottingham and lived at 199, Norton Street, Radford, Nottingham. Son of William and Mary Ann Booth, of 7, Herbert Street, Nottingham. He was a printer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 22nd June 1916, whilst in the line near Givenchy, France.
