Battalion : 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Darton, Yorkshire and lived at Manfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of Carroll and Ann Booth, of 33, Warren Terrace Shirebrook, Derbyshire. He was a colliery labourer prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He was killed in action, 31st July 1917, during the attack on the German positions near Steenbeek, Belgium.
