Born and lived at Monyash, Derbyshire. Son of Richard and Louisa Bonsall, of  Ivy House, Monyash, He enlisted at Bakewell and was killed in action, 21st April 1917, age 19, whilst in the line at Hancourt, France. 

Buried: Templeux-Le-Guerard British Cemetery, France. Plot 1. Row A. Grave 33.
