Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Matlock, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Hannah Boden, of 1, Cavendish Road, Matlock Bath. He was a coal merchant errand boy prior to enlisting at Matlock. He was killed in action, 9th February 1917, aged 21, during a raid on the German trenches near Mazingarbe, France.

Buried : Vermelles British Cemetery, France. Plot 5. Row C. Grave 33.
