Born and lived at Matlock, Derbyshire. Son of George and Elizabeth Boden, of Southend, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. He was a cotton Mill hand prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 21st May 1918, age 42, whilst serving in the line at Essarts, France.
