Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Longton, Staffordshire. Son of William Joseph and Gertrude Blurton, of 72, Oxford Street, Longton. He was a kiln lad prior to enlisting into the North Staffordshire Regiment, 8th December 1915 at Longton. He went to  France 5th June 1917 and was transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 29th June 1917. He was killed in action, 31st July 1917, in the attack near Bellewaarde, Belgium.
