Born and lived at Belper, Derbyshire. Son of John George and Emma Elizabeth Blount, of 73, Penn Street, Belper, Derbyshire. He was a Pit Bank Labourer prior to enlisting at Belper. He was killed in action, 17th June 1917, aged 21, whilst serving at the Canal Bank, near Ypres, Belgium.
