Private Joseph Bloor

Battalion: 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Thomas Bloor, of 23, North Street, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. He was a Pipe Jointer prior to enlisting 1st June 1915 at Derby and went to France 10th December 1915 with the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was sent back to England 8th April 1916 suffering from Trench Foot and was treated at the 4th Northern General Hospital at Lincoln. He returned to France 12th October 1917 and was posted to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment 17th October 1917. He was admitted to the 46th Casualty Clearing Station Boisleux, France 19th January 1918 suffering from Trench Foot again. He was transferred to the 22nd General Hospital at Camieres, France and rejoined his battalion 1st April 1918. He died from gunshot wounds to his neck and right arm 21st April 1918, age 19 at No. 7 Stationary Hospital Boulogne, France.
