Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Clifton, Derbyshire and lived at Calver, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Alice Blood, of Mayfield, Ashbourne, Derbyshire; husband of Hannah Elizabeth Sherwin (formerly Blood), of King Street, Ashbourne. He was a cotton doubler in a cotton mill at Calver prior to enlisting at Bakewell, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, on 4th March 1917, aged 35, whilst serving in the line near Albert, France.
