Battalion: 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Joseph and Annie Maria Bletcher, of 83, Poolsbrook, Staveley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was a colliery surface man prior to enlisting on 11th December 1915 at Staveley. He went to France on 21st August 1917 and was killed in action, on 22nd September 1917, aged 19, in the attack on Bulgar Wood, Belgium.
