Born and lived at Carrington, Nottingham. Son of Edward and Sarah A. Blanksby, of 1, Toronto Terrace, Church Drive, Carrington, Nottingham. He was a warehouseman prior to enlisting 28th September 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 25th June 1915 and was killed in action, 27th July 1915, age 18, whilst serving in the line at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
