Private Benjamin Blakeway

Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Walsall, Staffordshire. Son of George and Mary Ann Blakeway, of 10 Court 5 House, Horseley Heath, Staffordshire. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to Gallipoli in 1915 and later went to France and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, whilst serving in Constance Trench near Mailly-Maillet, France.
