Battalion : 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Son of Walter and Lucy Ann Blake, of Union Street, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He was corset packer, prior to enlisting 21st March 1912 at Ashbourne. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was one of four men killed by a German HE (high explosive) Shell, 9th April 1915, aged 22, whilst in the line near Kemmel, Belgium.
