British 1914 Star, British War and Victory Medal

Born at Saxondale, Nottinghamshire. Son of William of Kate Agnes Blagfg, of East Bridgeford. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting on 26th March 1903 at Newark, Nottinghamshire. He served in Singapore from 7th December 1905 to 11th December 1906. Served in India from 17th December 1906 to 31st March 1911. He passed for the Mounted Infantry in Bangalore, on 15th August 1908. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
