Son of Thomas and Margaret E. Blagg, of 25, Cartergate, Newark-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire. He was a bank clerk prior to enlisting. He was Sergeant in the South Nottinghamshire Hussars at the outbreak of war and served with them for 3 years as Royal Quarter Master Sergeant. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 17th March 1918. He was killed in action, 29th May 1918, aged 37, whilst in the line near Bouleuse, France.
