Born at Yoxall, Staffordshire and lived at Borrowash, Derbyshire. Son of Thomas and Sarah Blackshaw of Victoria Cottages, Victoria Avenue, Borrowash, Derbyshire. He was a railway clerk prior to enlisting 13th May 1916 at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He died at the 4th Northern General Hospital, 21st November 1916, from heart failure.
Buried : Ockbrook (All Saints) Churchyard, United Kingdom. In East part.
