Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Son of George and Sarah Ann Bishop, of a travelling caravan. He was a travelling showman prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France 18th May 1915 and was killed in action, 26th October 1916, whilst in the line near Trones Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
