British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Nottingham. Son of Herbert and Mary Ann Bird, of 2 Aberdeen Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. Husband of Kate Bird, of 6 Park Place, Park Road, Nottingham. He was an outdoor porter prior to enlisting 19th May 1915 at Nottingham and went to Gallipoli 14th November 1915. He went to France and was killed in action, 21st August 1917, whilst a member of a carrying party near Steenbeke, Belgium.
