Lance Corporal Arthur Birch

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Snelstone, Derbyshire, and lived at Middle Mayfield, Derbyshire. Son of James and Sarah Birch, of Middle Mayfield. He was a farm servant prior to enlisting at Buxton, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 24th April 1918, in the attack at Villers Bretonneaux/Bois l’Abbaye, France.
