Born 1894 in India. Son of Rupert Samuel and Alice Mildred Bion, of Bonnie View Farm, Corrigin, Western Australia. Went to Oxford University O.T. C. (Cavalry) for 2 years. He joined the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 21st April 1915. He was promoted to Captain on 23rd November 1915. He was awarded the Military Cross London Gazette Date, 14th January 1916. Killed in action, 21st March 1918. aged 24, by machine-gun fire during the German attack near the Vaux/Morchies line.

His brother Lieutenant Rupert Euston Bion, 40th Squadron Royal Air Force, also fell in the Great War.
