Born at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and lived at 20 Recreation Street, Mansfield. Son of George and Annie Bingley, of 71, West Gate, Mansfield. He was a coal miner at Sherwood Colliery, Mansfield prior to enlisting 12th November 1914 at Mansfield aged 17. He went to France 25th June 1915 and was killed in action, 20th June 1916, age 19, whilst serving in the line at Foncquevillers, France.
