Private John Bradburn Bilson

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Lived at Cresswell, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Ellen Bilson of Cresswell. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 24th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
