Born at Sheffield, Yorkshire and lived at 7 Arthur Terrace, Independence Street, Radford, Nottingham. Son of Frederick and Maria Billson, of 34, Hawksley Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was a hoist attendant at John Player and Sons Ltd, Nottingham, (Tobacco Factory) prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 19th May 1917, aged 23, during a raid on Nash Valley near Loos, France.
