Private Herbert Gerald Bigmore

Army Number: 203195 (formerly 31507 Bedfordshire Regiment)

Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Stopsley, Bedfordshire. Son of Horace and Flora Bigmore, of “Gerald St. Jean,” Lothair Road, Stopsley. He was a turner prior to enlisting 10th May 1916 at Luton, Bedfordshire into the Bedfordshire Regiment. He was transferred to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 25th October 1916. He went to France 26th February 1917 and was killed in action, 26th September 1917, aged 20,  in the attack on Otto Farm near Gravenstafel, Belgium.
