Private William Bicknell

Battalion : 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of George and Elizabeth Bicknell, of 3, Bernard Terrace, Simkins Street, Blue Bell Hill, St. Anne’s, Nottingham. Husband of Lily Emily Bicknell,  of 37 Kingston Street, Nottingham. He was a dairyman’s assistant prior to enlisting at Nottingham. Killed in action, 29th July 1916, aged 21, whilst in the line at Talus Bois, near Montauban, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
