Born a Countesthorpe, Leicestershire and lived at New Street, Hillcote, Derbyshire. Son of Frederick and Agnes Bexon, of B. Winnings, Blackwell, Derbyshire; Husband of Annie Bexon, of Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner at Blackwell Colliery, Derbyshire prior to enlisting at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire into the 11th  Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He went to France on 27th August 1915. He was later transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died of wounds, on 7th June 1918, aged 27, whilst serving with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
