Husband of Mrs Bewley, of 2 St. John’s Road, St Leonard’s on Sea, Sussex.  He was a solicitor prior to enlisting from Inns of Court Officers’ Training Corps. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 8th October 1915 into the 2/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. Went to France 4th November 1915 and Joined the 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He later joined the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 18th June 1917. and was killed in action, 26th June 1917, whilst serving in the line near Beaucamp, France.
