Born and lived at Derby. Son of Thomas and Zilpah Bestwick, of Derby; Husband of Catherine Bestwick, of 15, Talbot Street, Derby. He was a painter prior to enlisting 8th February 1915 at Derby. He went to France 26th February 1917 and was killed in action, 4th April 1917, aged 30, in the attack on the German line near Le Verguier, France. 

Buried : Vadencourt British Cemetery, Maissemy, France. Plot 4. Row B. Grave 19.
