Born and lived at Bethnal Green, London. Husband of Mary Ann Berry, of 26 Temple Street, Bethnal Green. He was a Timber Porter prior to enlisting at Finsbury Park, London. He went to France 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 10th August 1916, whilst serving in the line near Bernafay Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
