Born at Heanor, Derbyshire and lived at Bolsover, Derbyshire. Son of John and Jane Beresford, of 39, Oxcroft Lane, Bolsover. He was a Coal Miner prior to enlisting at Bolsover and went to France 29th August 1915. He died of wounds 8th June 1917, aged 34.
