Born and lived at Woodville, Derbyshire. Son of George and Louisa Bentley, of High Street, Woodville. He was a brewery labourer prior to enlisting at Church Gresley, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 26th September 1917, age 29, in the attack near Wieltje, Belgium.
