Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Derby. Son of Richard and Annie Bentley, of 117, Canal Street, Derby. He was a lace hand prior to enlisting 28th January 1908 at Derby. He went to France 21st April 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, during the attack at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
