Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Only son of Samuel & Amelia Bentley, of Heatherside, Duffield, Derbyshire. Native of Derby and was a bank clerk. He went to France  2nd December 1915 and was wounded 3rd March 1916 during the attack near Chester Farm, South East of Ypres, Belgium. He died of these wounds, 11th March 1916 aged 23, at No.1 Red Cross (Duchess of Westminster’s) Hospital, Le Touquet, France.
