Private Wallace Bennett

Army Number: 94112 (formerly 2635 Royal Engineers)

Battalion: 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Bredbury, Cheshire and lived at Stockport. Son of Walter and Kate Bennett, of 36, Rae Street, Edgeley, Stockport. He was a plumber prior to enlisting at Portsmouth.  He was transferred to the 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and killed in action, 6th November 1917, aged 31, whilst on a working party on the road, south of Wargnies-La Vallee, France.
