Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Hayfield, Derbyshire and lived at Birch Vale. Son of James T. and Adelaide J. G. Bennett, of North View, Birch Vale, Derbyshire. He was a print works labourer prior to enlisting at Buxton, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 13th October 1916, aged 27, whilst in the line near Montauban, France during the Battle of the Somme.
