Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Grassmoor, Derbyshire and lived at Clay Cross, Derbyshire. Son of Sarah Bennet. He enlisted at Chesterfield and went to Gallipoli 6th September 1915. He went to France and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, whilst serving in Constance Trench near Maillet Mailly, France. 

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
