Born and lived at Hinckley, Leicestershire. Son of Thomas and Betsy Bennett, of 5 Blue Boy Yard, Hinckley. He was a hosiery dyer prior to enlisting at Hinckley. He was transferred to the 2/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. Killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
