British War and Victory MedalBorn at Eckington, Derbyshire. Son of Edwin and Augusta Bennett, of Creswell, Derbyshire. ; Husband of R. E. Bennett, of 43, Baker Street, Creswell. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting 20th April 1915 at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He was appointed Lance Corporal 18th May 1916, went to France 1st February 1917 and was killed in action, 27th March 1917, aged 36, whilst serving near Ypres, Belgium.
