Born and lived at Derby. Son of Henry Howe Bemrose, Sc.D., J.P., and Nellie Bemrose, of Ash Tree House, Derby. He enlisted at Derby was gazetted Second Lieutenant 17th November 1914 into the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 23, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
