Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

He was born at Ashbourne, Derbyshire and lived at Bakewell, Derbyshire. Husband of Ethel Bembridge, of Gnat Hole, Bugsworth, Derbyshire. He was a bleach and dye works warehouse parcel man prior to enlisting at Chapel-en-le-Frith. He was killed in action, on 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, northwest of Saint Quentin, France.
