He lived at Sleaford, Lincolnshire; Son of Louise, of 70 Grantham Road, Sleaford. Brother of Mrs M. W. Crane, of 30, Victoria Avenue, Sleaford. Enlisted 21st October 1914 at Alfreton, Derbyshire, went to France 25th June 1915 and was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 22, during the attack on Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
Buried: Gommecourt Wood New Cemetery, Foncquevillers, France. Plot 1, Row G, Grave 18.
