Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Jane Bellamy, of 14, Featherstone Avenue, Worksop. He was a coal miner at Manton Colliery, Worksop prior to enlisting September 1914 at Worksop. He served in Gallipoli during 1915 with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and went to France  He was killed in action 31st October 1916, whilst the battalion was at “F” Camp, near Montauban, France during the Battle of the Somme.
